Together, we preserve peace.

Komezamahoro is a Pan-African movement whose vision is to restore the honor of Burundi by establishing Justice to uphold the principles of Democracy, uniting future generations in the country's development and civic responsibility.

Komezamahoro is a path, a new political approach for the positive transformation of mindsets. The movement is guided by a social transformation policy called 'The Intelligentsia Policy.'

The Intelligentsia Policy and its Doctrine — Historical and Theoretical Framework

The Intelligentsia Policy emerged in June 2015 from the realization that the democratic system is vulnerable not only to authoritarianism and dictatorship but also to demagogy that manipulates the masses.

Developed to address issues in the democratic system, it focuses on the core beneficiary of any social system: the INDIVIDUAL. The Intelligentsia Policy is a voice, a vision, and a path for the evolution of democracy.

Etymologically, 'Intelligentsia' comes from Latin, meaning 'intelligence'—the ability to learn, understand, and apply knowledge. It is the capacity to use reason to manage new or difficult situations.

The Intelligentsia Policy aims for positive behavior change based on positive mental change in every citizen. It emphasizes that social facts are understood through the interpretation of individual actions in society and that individual transformation leads to societal transformation.

Since politics is the art of governing the city, the Intelligentsia Policy focuses on the smallest unit of society—the citizen—who is both the center of interest and the driver of social change. It asserts that societal development depends on the development of each citizen.

When widely applied, the Intelligentsia Policy promotes socioeconomic and political progress throughout society. It is founded on five pillars.

The Intelligentsia Policy

The Intelligentsia Policy guides, transforms, and enlightens Burundians to become champions. This policy rests on five pillars:

Intelligentsia Integrative

Openness to the integration of intelligence for the improvement of social life. This pillar promotes the integration of intelligence in the management of the 'Res Publica' (the public good).

Gira ITEKA

Recognition of values and attributes and their optimal use by individuals to improve the quality of life in society. Intelligence means making rational choices in the optimal management of available human, financial, and material resources to achieve specific goals.

Positive Citizenship

Every individual has the duty to know their rights and obligations as a citizen. The main goal of this pillar is to build a lawful and rational society — one based on laws, rules, and objective, impersonal norms.

Democratic Justice

Each individual must know their rights and obligations as a citizen. The goal of this pillar is to construct a lawful, rational society governed by fair, objective, and impersonal laws.

Accountability

The obligation to be accountable to society. Once an individual understands they are responsible for their actions and decisions, and must answer for them, the decision-making process at the state level becomes inclusive and transparent.
